HERO worker Transported to hospital

According to the Georgia Department of Transportation, a HERO worker was injured in a truck accident while working along Interstate 85.  The accident occurred at around 4 in the afternoon on Tuesday near Old Peachtree Road.

The DOT worker was clearing debris from the southbound lanes of the highway when the accident happened.  Two vehicles had stopped for the worker but a semi-truck failed to slow and struck the two vehicles.  The truck continued and struck the worker before stopping on the side of the road.

Paramedics transported the HERO worker to a nearby hospital for treatment of multiple broken bones.

Atlanta Braves pitcher, Derek Lowe, was arrested for a DUI in April and the arrest footage has now been released.

Lowe was arrested in suspicion of drunk driving and racing another car down the roadway. When police saw Lowe’s car speeding down the roadway with another car, both vehicles were pulled over. On the dashcam, you can see Lowe repeatedly deny that he was racing.

The other car then admitted it and police let him go. Lowe refused the breathalyzer test and a field sobriety test was done. Police say that he failed this and he was taken into custody. One month later, the DUI charge was dropped against Lowe due to lack of evidence.
